Q How do I access the exhibitor manual?

A The exhibitor manual for June 2012 will be available for download shortly.

Q I have a stand at the show in shell scheme made from Octanorm, what is Octanorm?

A A modular system of aluminum poles and beams holding Foamex infill panels. These form the walls of the stand.

Q Is there a Ceiling?

A There is no ceiling as such, but there will be a number of horizontal beams at ceiling height which form part of the structure of the stand.

Q What is included in my stand package

A A Junior stand comes with 2 spotlights, carpet, 2 chairs, 1 small table, 1 waste bin, 3 x 1m shelves or rails.
A Standard stand comes with 3 spotlights, carpet, 2 chairs, 1 small table, 1 waste bin, 4 x 1m shelves or rails.
A Classic stand comes with 4 spotlights, carpet, 4 chairs, 1 medium table, 1 waste bin, 6 x 1m shelves or rails.
A Master stand comes with 5 spotlights, carpet, 4 chairs, 1 medium table, 1 waste bin, 8 x 1m shelves or rails.
A Deluxe stand comes with 7 spotlights, carpet, 5 chairs, 2 medium tables, 1 waste bin, 10 x 1m shelves or rails.

A Gallery Showroom comes with 15 spotlights, carpet, 21 x 1m shelves or rails.

A Bubble G.U.M. stand is constructed from traditional paneling and 1 long-arm spotlight is provided per 2m2

Q What is the height of the stand?

A For Junior to Deluxe stands, back wall panels will be 2.5m high and side walls will be 1.8m high (please see diagram on page 36 of your manual).
Note that if you have a corner stand, your stand will be opened on 2 sides.

Gallery Showrooms stands have a 0.9m dwarf wall and 2.5m height side walls.

Bubble G.U.M. stands have 2.74 m high walls.

Q What is the finish of the wall panels?

A White Foamex vinyl panels.

Q How do I fix to the wall panels?

A You cannot fix anything heavy to the wall panels because the Foamex will not take nails or screws, you can however use Velcro, which must be removed at the end of the show. It is forbidden to paint, glue, screw staple, nail or pin to the stand structure

Q Are the rules the same for a Bubble G.U.M. stand?

A No, your stand will be constructed from Traditional panels therefore, you are allowed to use adhesive, pin, nail and screw. Please DO NOT use any type of Velcro, adhesive pads or cavity fixings such as toggle bolts. A dilapidation cost will be charged for the replacement of any damaged panels. If you are planning on hanging anything heavy (4.5kg) please contact the Venue Services Department at the BDC.

Q Do I have electricity on my stand?

A No, this would need to be ordered additionally. Please fill in the lighting and electrics form in your manual.

Q How do I order additional lights?

A Please fill in the lighting and electrics form in your manual.

Q I would need additional furniture for my stand, please advise.

Q What is the colour of the carpet?

A The carpet is dark grey.

Q Can you recommend me a courier company?

Q Can I use a private courier to deliver my collection or do I have to use DHL?

A You can have any courier company deliver to the venue and they are allowed access during build up and break down for delivery or collections.

Q Where can I hire a steamer?

There will be a steamer service available on site, please contact the Organizers Office for location. Charges will apply.

Q Is an insurance required?

A Yes, you are required to hold a £5m limit of Public Liability insurance. This protects you against legal claims for accidental injury to third parties and/or for damage to third party property. This is not the same as Employers’ Liability insurance.

You may already have Public Liability insurance, however not all business policies cover organised events taking place outside your business premises. If in doubt you should consult your insurance provider. You can purchase exhibitor insurance from Hiscox in one of 2 ways:

As well as Public Liability, Hiscox can provide Employers’ Liability, Cancellation and Abandonment and Property covers for both exhibitors and event organisers. Further details are available on Hiscox’s website.

As we are not permitted to advise you on any insurance matter you are under no obligation to purchase insurance from Hiscox and may choose to seek a quotation from other providers.

Important Note - Hiscox can insure exhibitors located within European Union countries, Norway, Monaco and Switzerland. Exhibitors from other countries must arrange insurance locally.

Q When can I set up my stand?

A You may set up on Saturday 16 June 2012 from 9.00 am until 8.00 pm.

Q Can I continue breakdown on Tuesday 19 June?

A Everything must be clear of the halls by 9.30 pm on Monday 18 June.

Q Can I have product delivered to the stand/venue before 16 June?

A No deliveries will be accepted prior to Saturday 16 June, arrangements can be made with DHL to take your deliveries prior to this, a charge will be made, consult your manual for further information.

Q How do I access the venue for the set-up?

A You will require your exhibitor badges. Please complete and return the exhibitor pass form in your manual. These will be sent to you approximately two weeks prior to the show.

if you have contractors working with you on build up they will also require a badge, please complete the form in your manual.

Q Is there WIFI access at the venue?

A You may be able to access the open zone which is an unsupported WIFI connection.  This is a free service please connect to BDC_openzone. There is an open wireless network within the Café Area in the venue, all you need to do is connect to the BDCcafe option and you will have instant access to the network. There are two computer terminals available within this area with free access to the internet also. 

Q Where can I park my car?

A The Business Design Centre has an on-site car park with 285 spaces, charged at £6 for the first 2 hours and £3 per hour thereafter. There is also additional car parking in the nearby shopping centre's multi-story car park.

Q Do I need to fill in a form to participate at the Stand Out competition?

A No, all shell scheme exhibitors are already qualified to enter the competition.

Q How can I raise my profile at the show?

A You can book advertising space in the official show guide by completing the form in your manual.

Q Can I hire a bar code scanner for the duration of the show?

A Bar code scanners are available to hire from Show Data Systems. The cost of hiring a scanner throughout the duration of the exhibition is £100 + VAT. The scanner enables you to swipe the badge of buyers attending your stand, which then gives you access to their contact details after the close of the exhibition.
