Our most exciting show yet

We try to avoid blowing our own trumpet too often - but Bubble London A/W17 was, quite possibly, our most exciting show yet! From pushchairs and brand collaborations, to some very special guests, here are just a few of our highlights...

Rock Stars...

This season, childrenswear brand Love & Honor became our latest Rising Star, succeeding S/S17-winner Noook. Our judges (CWB Magazine's Laura Turner, Mother Pukka's Anna Whitehouse, Gemma Fordham of Crab and the Fox, and the brilliant Our Kid team) loved its effortlessly-cool debut collection, which was inspired by surfing, rock & roll, and family-life on the French coast. Veteran judge Laura praised the label's 'strong concept', explaining that its 'surf-inspired influences allowed it to tap into that whole following, without excluding other audiences'. She added that its on-trend look, and fun, carefree ethos were perfect for kid's fashion - while the nods to 70s skate culture and rock & roll would resonate with parents, too.

Congratulations to Marie-Claire (pictured, centre, with Bubble's event director Lindsay Hoyes, and event manager Katharine Revill) and her team, who will be back to claim their free stand at Bubble next season.

Pushmepullyou

This January, we introduced Pushmepullyou, a feature area showcasing top British pushchair brands.

Visitors were able to preview the latest models from BabyStyle, Cosatto and iCandy, before taking them for a spin around the show. We loved iCandy's innovative MiChair - not to mention those bold, graphic prints (think flowers, birds and rainbow-colours) from Cosatto.

Bubble's Green Ambassador

Earlier this season, we told you about our new Green Ambassador initiative, which is headed-up by Leonora Bamford of My Baba. Leo shared news about our eco-and-organic exhibitors in the run-up to Bubble, before curating a special Green installation at the show.

Featuring her favourite green product (from aden + anais swaddles, to Annaliv babygrows, Trixie sleeping-bags and Bulb London decos), it offered visitors an overview of the eco-friendly and organic collections on offer.

Leo also presented one lucky brand - Rising Star finalist The Great British Baby Company - with her 'Best in Show' award. She was impressed with founder Rachel's commitment to heritage, craftsmanship and organic materials, describing her heirloom-quality coats and accessories as 'beautiful'. We agree!

Over in We've Got Chemistry, there were three new brand-collaborations on display: a range of soft merino clothing from The Bright Company and Smalls, slogan sweaters and babygrows from The Bonnie Mob and Selfish Mother (our team were swooning over the black-and-gold knit), and Mr Men kidswear by Tobias and the Bear...

Visitors, big and small, learned more about buying, business growth and new brands thanks to this season's seminar programme. There were insights from expert retailers, trend updates from experienced consultant Fiona Coleman (look out for full skirts and bold cheques in A/W17), and a fascinating Q&A with Lucy Enfield and Sophie Worthington, founders of Wild & Gorgeous. See the full line-up here...

Sweet treats from BKD

BKD's cake-decorating masterclasses went down a treat, keeping little ones well-and-truly entertained. The ever-creative Rachel Riley won their Retailer Ice Challenge, and will be hosting her own in-store BKD event later in the year. Stay tuned...

Bubble Bump...

Bump has grown! Our maternity and nursery area returned this season, complete with a new layout, a new location, and an exciting new selection of brands. Read more about the A/W17 line-up here...

Lago

Lago's installation, based on one of its innovative children's bedrooms, left us feeling seriously inspired. How could anyone resist that armchair? Read more about the Italian design-brand here...

The Bubble Bookshop

The Bubble Bookshop opened for business again - and, this season, it was stocked with kid's titles from the likes of Phaidon, Barefoot Books, Michael O'Mara

In fact, there were too many highlights to list here - don't get us started on POP, our platform for boutique brands, or the Peruvian Pavilion, which showcased artisan collections from South America. It's going to be a tough act to follow - but we'll do our upmost! See you next season, 16 & 17 July 2017...
