Being a Bubble brand...

This week, we've been talking stands, order-writing and pre-show promotion with Linda Gill, agent for bestselling babywear brand Kissy Kissy...


Hi, Linda. Kissy Kissy has been showing at Bubble London since 2009! Do you think trade shows are important? 

Yes, trade shows are a very important part of our sales strategy. They enable many buyers to see your brand over a fairly short time-span, and also give you the chance to meet new contacts you might otherwise not have connected with.


Could you tell us a bit more about why Kissy Kissy shows at Bubble? 

Kissy Kissy exhibits at Bubble as it is the largest UK show, and all of the major buyers attend.


How do you prepare for Bubble? 

We spend a great deal of time on our preparations for the show. Obviously we ensure that the stand looks amazing by choosing a theme of some sort, and also make appointments with buyers. 

We send out invitations which have the dates of all the shows we exhibit at on, both in the UK and Ireland. We also have a banner on all our emails, and post on Facebook in the run-up to the show. Finally, we ensure that our website lists where the collection can be viewed - be it at our showroom, or the show itself. 



How do you make the most of your time at the show? 

This we achieve by promoting Bubble heavily in the 2 months prior to the event. As the show is only two days, time is of the essence – and we usually have something in the region of 30-35 appointments booked over the weekend. If we did not do this then we would have a situation where many customers arrived at the same time, and we would not be able to deal with them. 



What advice would you give to brands exhibiting at Bubble for the first time? 

Preparation is everything! Do not assume that because you have booked a stand you will be immediately inundated with orders. Have information – like lookbooks and wholesale price lists – that can be taken away, as not everyone writes their orders at the show.
